Cueto Secures Grand Slam Power

Mark Cueto, the Sale Sharks and England winger, has received a timely boost in advance of next weekend’s testing 6 Nations fixture against Ireland (Sat, Feb 27) with the announcement of a new sponsorship deal with leading European sportsfood company, Multipower.

Without yet realising their full potential, England’s Grand Slam dreams remain on track following narrow victories over Wales and Italy. Cueto has performed solidly in both the openers but is looking forward to England’s three quarter line getting the chance to show more attacking prowess on home soil next week.

‘There is a really positive feeling amongst the squad at the moment; we’re definitely heading in the right direction,’ comments Cueto. ‘We know we’ve got to raise our game again to beat Ireland at Twickenham on Saturday, but our confidence is growing as a unit and we’re really up for the challenge.’

To celebrate the deal, the winger, renowned for his muscular physique, received a ‘Body Worlds’-style makeover from Multipower to showcase his immaculate condition. Commenting upon his muscular makeover, Cueto said: ‘I think I look great. It's amazing what a bit of paint can do, it makes me look like an Adonis. I can’t wait to show the Mrs.!’

Thirty year-old Cueto, from Cumbria, launched his England career with a double try-scoring debut against Canada in 2003. He has now reached 36 international caps, having started the last twelve matches for England. Domestically, his scoring rate in the Guinness Premiership for Sale Sharks has been exceptional, with 67 tries in 138 matches, including registering try-scoring performances in a record-equaling eight consecutive Premiership matches.
