I’ve been swimming for 19 years but I’ve never been very good… I work very hard in the pool but it’s still always been a struggle for me. If all the ITU guys in the world did a test set in the pool I’d probably in the bottom 20% in ITU racing.
Sometimes I beat guys out the water who are 3mins faster then me over 1500m. At the weekend though I got out of the water in 3rd spot. People don’t know how I do it! Here’s a few tips from me.

It's all getting pretty exciting here now as the real slog of hard work is almost done and we're starting to see a lot of easing up now leading into the big races. In a sport this hard the majority of your hardest training is done in the winter. Once you start racing, of course there is time to train but it's not the time to make significant improvements and get your base miles in as you have to be fresh to race to a high level.

If you noticed in my last blog that I mentioned I had a treat on Saturday! Well that's the reason why I couldn't train on Sunday. My best mate came round with his family and he also brought a bottle of rum with him. Need I say more!
